FAQ

Supportive answers about virtual therapy, trauma-informed care, and starting your healing journey.

💬 How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or simply in need of a supportive space to process life’s challenges, therapy can help. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from care — therapy is for anyone seeking growth, clarity, or healing.

💬 What is holistic therapy?

Holistic therapy goes beyond traditional talk therapy. It honors the connection between your mind, body, and spirit. At Love Light, we integrate approaches that support emotional, physical, and energetic wellbeing — all through a trauma-informed lens.

💬 What does trauma-informed care mean?

Trauma-informed care creates a safe, empowering space where your experiences are honored without judgment. It means your therapist will prioritize consent, choice, and collaboration — never pushing you to disclose or process more than you’re ready for.

💬 Will I have to talk about my past right away?

No. Your therapist will meet you where you are. You set the pace. Some clients begin with current stressors or coping strategies before exploring deeper issues. Therapy is always guided by your comfort and readiness.

💬 How long will I need to be in therapy?

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Some begin therapy with a specific goal in mind; others choose long-term support. We’ll check in regularly to see how therapy is feeling and make adjustments as your needs evolve.

💬 What if I don’t know how to open up?

That’s completely okay. Many clients start therapy unsure of what to say. Your therapist is trained to gently guide the process and help you feel safe expressing yourself — even when words are hard to find.

💬 Can therapy really help with anxiety and trauma?

Yes. Therapy can provide tools to manage anxiety, process trauma safely, and rebuild trust in yourself and others. While healing isn’t always linear, consistent support makes a meaningful difference.

💬 What’s the difference between therapy and talking to a friend?

Therapists are trained to listen without judgment and guide you with evidence-based strategies. Unlike a friend, a therapist holds space for your healing without needing anything in return — it’s all about you.

💬 Is therapy confidential?

Yes. Everything shared in therapy is protected by law and ethics, with a few exceptions for safety concerns. Your privacy and trust are foundational to the work we do.
