My name is Amanda Brown, and I am a Mental Health Counselor Intern.
I have been passionate about helping people since childhood. This passion was built upon as I completed my educational goals. I received my Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and my Master’s in Law and Public policy from California University of Pennsylvania, now known as PennWest California. While I may be in the process of completing my clinical hours, I bring eight years of dedicated experience, as a Program Director for a non-profit organization preventing the evictions of many within the community. I have worked with clients experiencing a plethora of crises that has led them to a vulnerable point in life. I am now changing the trajectory of my assistance by pursuing my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from St. Bonaventure University.
My goal is to become well versed in the various aspects of enhancing one’s quality of life. What are some of your personal stressors, the things in the shadows that are often left to deal with another day. Are you currently feeling unmotivated, unclear on how to decipher your emotions, do you feel stuck in this current phase of your life with difficulties on how to move forward. Or are you experiencing relational issues whether platonic or romantic and want to better understand your needs for more conducive interactions. My approach revolves around solution-focused therapy, emphasizing practical solutions and empowering you to leverage your strengths. I also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy and other therapeutic modalities that we identify together and may be compatible with your style and idea of growth. Our virtual space is designed to be warm, safe, and welcoming, ensuring you feel comfortable throughout our journey.
In my free time I enjoy writing poetry, leisurely reading non-fiction books, spending time with loved ones, taking walks, traveling, and exploring new activities, foods, and environments. I am dedicated to my own spiritual growth and increasing my quality of life as well. I believe in the connection between mental well-being and spirituality, incorporating a holistic perspective into our sessions. Together, we'll explore the untapped potential of your mind and work on affirmations and tools that align with your goals for personal transformation. This is not just therapy; it's a collaborative learning journey, and I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space for you to thrive.
I look forward to working with individuals, couples, and families. Connect with me so we can work together and cultivate new ways or enhance the tools you already have, to increase your quality of life.
