Amanda Gonzalez, MS, MHC-I

Hi! My name is Amanda Gonzalez, and I am a Mental Health Counselor Intern.
I am a compassionate, empathetic, and determined individual. I am experienced in Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy while providing case management counseling. I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families. I strive to empower you to live in the most authentic version of yourself. I aim to be the best counselor I can be by creating a genuine, safe, and nonjudgmental space to better help you navigate your journey, called life!
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Rhode Island, and my Master of Science in Psychology at Mercy College. In 2018 I was awarded with the Outstanding Contributions to the Psychology Department at the University of Rhode Island. I am currently at Long Island University’s mental health counseling program. I aspire to become a clinical psychologist and open a private practice to bridge the gap between spirituality and psychology as many of their respective principles align.
In my free time, I love to escape into fantasy or mystery novels. I love to meditate and especially enjoy guided meditations. I make digital stickers and digital art for fun, I like to embroider things onto my clothing, I play the piano, and read tarot. I love learning new hobbies or skills to exhaust my creative side. I’m also a huge movie buff; you can always find me at your local movie theater catching the next best movie! Overall, I enjoy spending time with my family the most.
You do not need therapy; you deserve it. You cannot change what you do not acknowledge and reading this is that first step! Love yourself more today than you did yesterday and take this brave step in starting your healing journey, as self-love is the best gift you can give yourself! If you’d like to work with me, please use the contact button below to fill out a consultation form or schedule a free meeting with a member of our intake team. I look forward to working with you!
