Sherene S. Henry, MS, LMHC, NCC

Welcome! My name is Sherene S. Henry and I’m so happy you’re here!
I am a Board Certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor and CEO/Founder/Clinical Director of Love Light Mental Health Counseling Services, PLLC. I received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology from St. John’s University and my Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Mercy College.
As a 15-year mental health professional, my career has afforded me the opportunity to work in a variety of settings while supporting several vulnerable populations and gaining valuable experiences. In private practice, I provide individual and couples counseling to adults struggling with everyday life stressors, including Anxiety, Depression, ADD, Bipolar Disorder, self-esteem issues, stress, family conflict, grief, and more. During my experience with St. Barnabas Hospital’s Behavioral Health System in the Bronx, NYC, I provided individual counseling to adults with substance use issues and group counseling to women struggling with trauma. My volunteer work with Westchester Community Opportunity Program in Westchester County, NY has afforded me the opportunity to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and emotional support to clients reporting sexual assault. During my time as a Community Based Service Provider with NYC’s Bridges to Health Program, I assisted children in foster care, their families and school staff in understanding and addressing each child’s mental health needs, in an effort to minimize interruption to their education.
I offer a highly personalized and compassionate approach tailored to each individual’s needs. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I’ll assist you with attaining the personal growth you’re striving for. I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues, offering evidence-based techniques and mindfulness-based interventions to assist you on your path to fulfilling your best life, all while staying true to yourself.
Additionally, my strong background in management and training allows me to efficiently provide clinical supervision to those in school or post-grad, working toward becoming a licensed clinician.
